Framed Floral Still Life, France (c. 1890–1910).
This original oil painting depicts a bouquet of roses arranged in a simple vase, set against a muted interior background. Soft pinks and greens are balanced by an earthy, subdued palette typical of French floral still lifes from the turn of the century.
Signed in the lower corner, the painting is on canvas stretched over a wooden support with hand-driven nails, indicating period construction. While the artist has not been definitively identified, the materials and composition are consistent with late 19th- to early 20th-century French studio and academic work.
The painting is housed in an antique gilt wood frame with plaster detailing. The frame shows areas of wear and historic repair, with patina consistent with time and use. The painting itself remains in good condition. New hanging hardware has been added to the reverse for secure display.
Sourced outside of Paris, Henriette's Roses is a classic floral still life well suited to modern and traditional interiors alike.
Frame is 19 × 22 in (48.26 × 55.88 cm); Canvas is 15 x 18 in (38.1 x 45.72 cm)
